“What if your only role was to serve with as much love as possible?”**

~ Tosha Silver

I feel like I’m celebrating the end of a marathon – the busy weeks leading up to this moment are now behind us. The mornings rushing out the door to get the boys where they need to be, the evenings getting dinner on the table, making sure the kids get to bed early, packing lunches, keeping track of all the details and of course, preparing for the holidays…is now complete as I’m done getting ready.

Done getting the kids to school on time. Done fretting about bedtime. Done with the present buying and wrapping. Done with the meal planning. Done with the parties and the rushing around and done keeping track of all the details.

Winter break is upon us. The food needed has been purchased. The gifts are under the tree.

It feels good to be home in our jammies today, with the only things on our agenda is to rest, go slow, watch The Grinch and drive around to look at Christmas lights later this evening.

It feels good to be intentional – to make a choice that I’m doing enough. The photo books I really wanted to make the boys just won’t get done in time. Unless I stay up WAY TOO LATE for the next few nights. But instead, I’m practicing embracing imperfection and will finish them without rushing.

That’s what I want for you, too. I know you have a list. I know you feel the pressure. I know you feel the stress of getting it all done in time.

Remember that no matter what, you are doing enough. Taking good care of yourself during these more stressful times is important. Get your sleep. Be kind to yourself. Let go of pushing and doing and rushing.

Remember your family and friends – more than anything – want connection. They want to be heard. They want to be seen. They want to be loved.

Your purpose during this time of year is not to create the perfect memory, or the perfect gifts, or the perfect meals, or the perfect home. Your true purpose, today and always, is to love.

Be love, today.

Give your time, attention and presence.
Receive the love that your friends and family want to share with you.

Enjoy being together and keep things as simple as possible.

In the long run, you will feel so much better and the people closest to you will benefit from your more positive, light and peaceful energy.
