When’s the last time you felt truly at peace, content and connected to your authentic self?

Even when we have great self-care practices in place, the pace of our daily lives moves so fast that we’re left feeling frazzled – racing to catch up and with this intense feeling that no matter how hard we try, it’s never enough.

If you are tired of racing through life and want to let go of the mental and emotional clutter that is leaving you feeling stressed and overwhelmed, then I encourage you to give retreating a try.

Ever since I started hosting retreats in person, I can honestly say they are the most liberating, life-changing experiences my participants (and me!) have ever had.  I know leaving your work or family for a 4-day weekend can be challenging and it’s also an investment. But you don’t have to travel to still get the benefit of retreating.

It’s important to learn how to create mini-retreats in your day-to-day life, and that’s the intention of this very special online weekend retreat I have planned for you!

Retreating is a great gift.

When you can carve out space for stillness in your life and make small changes to your daily self-care routine, you create healthy habits that can last a lifetime. Creating a mini-retreat at home will allow you to get a much needed break from the daily grind of responsibility and routine so that your mind can quiet, your body can rest and your spirit can restore.

How does an online wellness retreat work?

After you sign-up, you will receive a personal email from Shannon with simple details to help you get ready for your weekend retreat. To prepare, you will want to let your friends and family know about your retreat plans for the particular weekend.  It is best if you could clear your weekend calendar for the weekend of November 9th – 11th, 2018.

If that isn’t possible, first see what’s holding you back from making space that weekend.  Could you reach out to a friend or family member to watch the kids?  Could you switch things around?  Who can help you make this happen?

If you find that this weekend isn’t going to work, you can still sign-up for the retreat and follow the same schedule on a different weekend that fits better with your schedule.  You’ll have access to the retreat schedule, meditations, videos and journal prompts far beyond this planned weekend.

Retreating alone will give you the quiet time you probably rarely get, however, you may be craving deeper connection with your friends. (One of my favorite things about going on retreat is laughing with other women friends.) You may feel guided to reach out and invite other women to join you for this retreat weekend.  That can be so much fun.  Listen to what you need most and follow that!

Journaling is a powerful tool for self-discovery.  So many times the thoughts we think swirl and repeat and leave us feeling mentally cluttered and overloaded.  Writing in a journal gives these restless thoughts a place to go and will not only free up your mind, but help you create the space you need to listen to the messages in your heart.

Stillness & Guided Meditations

There is a great gift that comes from sitting in stillness.  You can enjoy stillness while sipping a cup of tea, while connecting to your breath or during meditation.  You do not have to be a “meditator” to enjoy stillness.  Anyone can benefit from stillness – and just a few minutes a day can go a long way.  During this home retreat we will practice sitting in stillness and using guided meditation as a way to find inner peace and calm.


Mindful Movement

Whether it’s a walk in nature, doing yoga or dancing to your favorite song – the choice is yours.  Movement gets your blood pumping and gets your energy flowing.  This type of movement will be intentional and not focused on burning calories, but on quieting your mind, opening your heart and giving your life force energy a healthy jolt. You’ll decide what kind of movement you’d like to do.  For some of us, climbing into bed and taking a nap may be what our energy calls for!  It’s about mindfully listening to and follow what we need most in the present moment.


Nourishment with Healthy Foods

You’ll be in charge of choosing what you’ll eat during this retreat weekend.  I will share some recipes for inspiration, but keep it simple.  We will take breaks throughout the day for mindful eating so that you have time to prepare your food and enjoy eating it without rushing.

Creative Play

Creativity is healing and is the gateway to our intuition.  During our Saturday evening circle we’ll be playing with collage and making a vision board.  No art experience necessary!  This is a simple practice that can quiet your mind and allow your heart to lead the way.  You’ll pick images and words that resonate with you. It’s relaxing, fun and rejuvenating.

Connection to Community

Once you sign-up for this retreat you’ll be connected with a community of amazing women from around the world who will be retreating with us.  You’ll get the opportunity to share and connect with this group of women for a month after our retreat.

For the retreat you will need:

  • A computer with Internet access (or a smart phone)
  • A quiet room or home to retreat in
  • Healthy, simple meals
  • A journal and pen
  • Magazines, scissors, glue stick and markers
  • An open heart and a sense of curiosity

Free Time
~ take a walk or enjoy some movement – like yoga, exercise or dance
~ take a nap, read an inspiring book, journal, take a bubble bath
The choice is yours.  Whatever you decide make sure you listen to what you need most.  Remember the theme during this weekend retreat is to nourish your heart and soul. Enjoy quiet time and do something that fills you up.
